    Programme Highlights

    The aim of the PPL Theoretical Knowledge Course is to provide comprehensive and high-quality ground training to aspiring pilots, ensuring they acquire the essential theoretical knowledge required to obtain a Private Pilot License (PPL). This course aims to meet the standards for QF qualification, enhancing the credibility and recognition of the training provided.

     

    Learning Objectives

    Understand Aviation Theory: Students will grasp fundamental principles of flight, including aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, and aircraft systems.
    Develop Practical Knowledge: Students will learn practical aspects of flying, such as flight planning, air traffic control procedures, and aviation regulations.
    Enhance Safety Awareness: Students will gain a thorough understanding of aviation safety protocols and emergency procedures.
    Prepare for PPL Exams: The course will equip students with the knowledge and confidence needed to successfully pass the theoretical exams for the PPL.

    Chapter 3: Flight Performance and Planning

    Factors affecting aircraft performance

    Take-off and landing calculations

    Chapter 4: Human Performance

    Physiological effects of altitude

    Psychological factors (decision-making, situational awareness)

    Managing fatigue and stress

     

    Chapter 5: Meteorology

    Composition and structure of the atmosphere

    Atmospheric pressure, density, and temperature

    Weather phenomena (clouds, fronts, thunderstorms

     

    Chapter 6: Navigation

    Fundamentals of Earth and maps

    Aeronautical charts and compass use

    Trainer’s Profile

    Mr. Steven CHEUNG is a licensed commercial and private pilot with extensive experience in the aviation industry. He is the chairman of Hong Kong Professional Airline Pilots Association and Founder and CEO of Seaplane Hong Kong. He made history as the first Chinese pilot at Lufthansa Group and the first Hong Kong pilot to receive the Air League HRH Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Flying Bursaries. Steven has piloted for Hong Kong Express Airways and Adria Airways and his flight training includes type ratings for the A320 and CL65, as well as comprehensive training in UPRT and MCC/JOC. Steven is also dedicated in inspiring the next generation of pilots which is demonstrated as he founded the Pilot Mentoring Programme and took part in different training programmes in HKPAPA.
